A SWEET PIECE OF HISTORY
Its origins can be traced back to very specific historical-political reasons: with the Napoleonic blockade, the quantities of cocoa arriving in Europe were limited and at exorbitant prices, but the demand for chocolate continued to increase.
Michele Prochet then decided to partially replace the cocoa with a product that is very present in the area: the Tonda Gentile hazelnut from the Langhe, a hazelnut with a strong and delicate flavor.
GIANDUIOTTO ACCORDING TO FELETTI
The toasted and ground hazelnuts become a cream because they contain an oily part. Feletti decides to replace part of the cocoa with 32% local hazelnuts, thus creating a Gianduiotto that combines strong flavor and seductive softness.
