Campania is a region of southern Italy, famous throughout the world for its artistic and cultural
heritage, but above all for its food and wine heritage, the Mediterranean cuisine in fact, is
protected by UNESCO.
From Naples to Pompeii to the Amalfi Coast, passing through Capri and Ischia, Campania is
waiting to be discovered!
Not to be missed is the ancient historic center of Naples, which has been declared a Unesco
World Heritage Site for its artistic beauties, the historic archaeological sites of Pompeii and
Herculaneum, but also the sumptuous Royal Palace of Caserta, not far from the center. But the
most popular holiday destination in Italy of all is the Amalfi coast!

It takes its name from its historically most important city, Amalfi, equally famous are Positano,
Ravello and Vietri. And if you feel like the sea, you cannot miss the place most loved by
everyone, the island of Capri, which has always been seen with great charm and chosen as a film
set for numerous films, to see are the Faraglioni and the wonderful Grotta Azzurra.
Campania is famous for its typical products such as tomatoes from San Marzano, artichokes
from Paestum, annurca apple from Avellino, lemons from Sorrento and Amalfi, fresh fish,
buffalo mozzarella, ice cream, pasta from Naples, DOC wines such as Falanghina del Sannio, and
limoncello.
Campania is also known for its culinary recipes such as pasta with meat sauce, a single dish
based on lard, ham fat and veal slices stuffed with cheese, garlic, pine nuts and parsley; eggplant
parmigiana, another typical dish based on Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, aubergines and tomato
sauce; spaghetti with mussels or clams; seafood risotto; fried anchovies; sfogliatella with creamy
filling of fresh ricotta; babà and many other specialties to try.

Finally, the strongest, most famous and now globalized culinary tradition is that of Neapolitan
pizza!
Also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was born in 1700 in Naples, the first pizzas were
the marinara, the margherita and the mastunicola, up to the different variants that we all know
today.
